Cat-sitting over
Cat-sitting over: Cats are evil.

Things I'm looking forward to seeing / doing in Australia - small list:
- palm trees! (ok, I'll settle for green grass at the moment)
- playing the "deadly or friendly" game with critters I've never seen before
- the pacific ocean
- hanging ten (do people still say this - must check)
- the outback (crikey - it's a desert!)
- koala patting (I did a project about koalas in Grade 5 - this is all in the name of 'research')
- playing the "deadly or friendly" game Ocean version
- Smelling eucalyptus that isn't bought at a craft store

... the beat goes on

Hanging ten(#):
I actually watched a 50's surf show just the other day and learned what that meant.. back in tha day when they used those huge wooden surf boards - somtimes almost 40 lbs in weight - surfers would ride a wave and walk to the tip of the board. this was referred to as 'hanging ten' since your 10 toes were haning off the end of the board.. longboards are back!!! so you're safe.
Hang-ten DUDE!!!

... and what do they call it when 98% of your body is hanging off the end of a surf board?

You forgot:
- taste (and enjoy) Vegemite
- survive the "one drink for two" nights on... Mondays
- climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Good Luck.

Oh yeah! How could I forget vegemite! Also - anything cooked on a barbie.

Is the bridge climb worth $150? Or would that money be better spent having private surf lessons.

Lana / 03.08.04

And beer.
LOTS of beer...
I heard the climb is not worth it, actually.

Mom - I think jean-philippe means lemonade.

Can I have your mom e-mail address, please ?

Vegemite sandwiches (never tasted that, hope it's better than Marmite), and see that fabulous garden with all the wooden sculptures of aboriginals. Which bring me to an all-important tip: before you go, try and see Billy Connolly's world tour of Australia for ideas (and lots of laughs)!

just looking at that list and I didn't see ....

a nite out on the town with me :)

I haven't done the climb myself as yet.

All up the climb takes around 3 1/2 hours but not sure how long you actually get to spend at the top.

The one reason stopping me from doing the climb is NO CAMERAS .... :(

Although, I do like the "chained to 12 other tourists" thing. You know, for that authentic Australian convict experience! Go convicts!
