Witness bats in the Botanical Gardens, Sydney: It took a long time to register that these were bats and not mere leaves. Then once you get used to the idea that they look like black discounted christmas tree decorations and not at all like Count Dracula and his Sesame Street bats, they were suddenly everywhere.
