Moving on to Mossman, Queensland
Moving on to Mossman, Queensland: I'll return to more photos of Sydney soon, but for now I'll start posting some pictures from tropical Queensland that you all have been asking for (and by 'you all' I really mean, Mom).

Here we are in Mossman (or Moss Vegas as the locals say). Mossman is a tiny sugar cane town about 2 hours north of Cairns. I arrived just a few weeks before they start to harvest the cane - apparently the refining process makes the town smell like a big cookie. Mmm.

Here is a typical example of Mossman humour.

While Mossman Gorge gets its fair share of tourists (the national park here doesn't charge an admission fee), they're nearly all just daytrippers from Port Douglas or Cairns.

i think this gets my vote for 'best ever picture by lana'. the composition is really interesting...that dark foreground works brilliantly. it almost has an airbrushed quality to it..

I have to admit.. it's one of my favourites.
