Starbucks invasion: Charlottetown got its first Starbucks a few weeks ago. I tried to do my best impression of the Starbucks-chic when ordering two grande cappucinos - the clerk looked puzzled and said, "Medium?" I regressed to the Tim Hortons sizing vocabulary and replied, "Yes, please."

Is that in the courtyard behind the DVA building? I can't tell for sure. I'm guessing that Starbucks is in Beanz's old spot. I ran across your site yesterday and as another expatriate Islander now in Ottawa, I'm enjoying your photos. Keep up the good work. Mike M / 07.08.04Actually, Starbucks is located in the new "Mavors" restaurant, formerly the Courtyard restaurant at the Confed. centre. It's very nice and zen. Lana / 07.08.04That's not a real Starbucks! Imposter! Sarah / 07.08.04Ok, it's more of a barnacle Starbucks... Lana / 07.08.04You've only got your first starbucks!?!? Euan / 07.08.04You reminded me of story. When Toby and I were driving across the country and we hit Kansas and Starbucks became a mere East Coast memory. And Toby really wanted some coffee--more specifically, Starbucks Coffee. So we're driving and it's around 6:15 a.m. and we see a sign for an upcoming starbucks! And we're so excited. Then the next sign read "Starbucks 120 miles" And we waited. And that's how much American's need their bloody Starbucks. mihow / 07.08.04That's dedication at 6:15am. You'd think they'd be more numerous in Kansas - kids with red shoes and small yappy dogs and all.. Lana / 07.08.04This was from Salina to Colorado, which was more in the middle of the state. Perhaps Starbucks just sort of gave up after driving half way through kansas. I hear that's usual. mihow / 07.08.04Or tornados picked them off... Lana / 07.08.04Post a comment
