Cane field: There were cane fields surrounding my bed and breakfast in Mossman, Queensland. It was almost time to cut the cane. My host said that the refining process makes the town smell like cookies baking. I think I would like that... probably too much.
Also, I am so pleased with this quiche recipe that I mooched from a friend that I thought I'd share.... 1 - 9" pie shell (the frozen kind will do) 4 eggs 6 slices of crumbled bacon (I used deli sliced maple ham.. ) 1 cup of evaporated milk 1 cup of shredded Guyere and Swiss cheese 3-4 green onions 1 tsp nutmeg Dash of salt and pepper Whisk eggs, millk, and spices together. Layer the onion, cheese and meat in the pie shell. Pour the liquid mixture over the top. Bake at 350F for about 45 minutes (or longer). Voila. Comments
