Thoughts jotted on the back of a *Hartman's receipt: Sunday. It is 40 minutes before one of the Chamber Festival concerts. I am standing halfway back in the queue. For the next forty minutes I try to rationalize why these classical music groupies need to be SO early**.
I mean, were this a pop concert - these would be the types to rush the stage, reach out for the hot guitarist's hand and crowd surf. Luckily, this is a Mozart concert and they all appear to have artificial hips. In the end I'm not sure if they are trying to get the first crack at the front row because they have difficulty hearing or because they are trying to score tickets to the after-party. Likely a bit of both. * Note: Some random items from the Hartman's bill include spinach, guyere cheese, strawberries and a jalapeno pepper. ** For the record: I was there 40 minutes early because I caught a ride with one of the performers.
