Champlain - because one statue isn't enough
Champlain - because one statue isn't enough: There is a new addition to our fortress of solitude - aka Gatineau. Another statue of Champlain was unveiled barely 2km away from the original Champlain statue on the Ottawa side of the river. Perhaps it's just me, but does it resemble Jebediah Springfield to anyone else? I can't take this much 'stalwartness' on my way to work.

I recall reading that this one is supposed to be less dandyish; i.e. no lace cuffs. But what an old-fashioned looking statue.

It DOES look like Jeb!

It will surely embiggen all of Gatineau/Hull.
