It's Official: Winter. Blah.
Some notes: 1. iTunes opens their Canadian music store. Wallet mysteriously empties. 2. Someone blogs that 'blog' is the top word in the blogosphere of 2004. What the blog do they know? Comments
No, no -- winter, yay! -- so long as there's snow with the cold. As for "blog" being top word, what on earth is defenestration doing at #10? According to the article, "Other terms in the top 10 were related to natural disasters that have struck the US, such as "hurricane" or were to do with the US election." So ... defenestration. What a tornado did to that vase that used to be on the table? What John Kerry did with the election with his "global test" and mention of Cheney's daughter? ;) What hard-core lefties did to themselves after Bush won re-election? What gives? Anatole / 12.02.04I'd never heard of 'peloton' before.. And what of, "unsticker"?? Lana / 12.02.04I thought you were a Lance Armstrong fan. :) Of course, he spends a fair amount of his time with the peloton in his dust ... Where did you see "unsticker"? 'Unsticker' made my own personal Top 10 vocabulary list. Lana / 12.02.04Update! "The publisher's Web masters can claim some credit for No. 10: "defenestration." The word, which means to throw a person or a thing out a window, was the top entry in an online survey by Merriam-Webster asking users for their favorite word. Lana / 12.02.04Yeah ... they ought to be unstickered. :) Anatole / 12.02.04I love winter although over here it's more rain than snow :( Euan / 12.02.04Let us not forget about cachet.
