It's a mess out there: Despite the snow, I went to my run group tonight. All 5 of us. As the icy pellets fell and the snow accumulated on the path, we tried to convince ourselves that 'it's just like running on the beach!' Now, there is only so long that a rational person can carry on with happy beach thoughts.. and that time period does not cover a 4km run. When one of my classmates waved and said 'see you at hill training tomorrow!' all that I could do was chortle.
You'd think that the snow would mean the end of biking season. But no! Ottawa's hardest corest cyclist was out. You may have seen him before downtown. He's the one who wears a t-shirt and shorts NO.MATTER.WHAT.TEMPERATURE. I've seen him mid-January, on the coldest day where I wouldn't even conceive to sit on a cold bicycle seat with 5 layers of snowpants, out there cycling to and fro. Beet red. Nothing stops this guy. Not even frostbite. Comments
