Fleece-fest: As always the Banff Mountain Film Festival was a sell-out event. I knew enough to get there early. I arrived at the Bytowne an hour before the show started and the theatre was already a quarter full.
I was slightly disappointed with the selection of films this year - the same kayakers were back, more biking and heli-skiing. The 'long' feature of the show was "Alone Across Australia" - the story of Jon Muir who walked from the bottom to top of Australia... with his terrier. That was worth the price of admission alone.
