Swashbuckled: We had another large snowfall yesterday which turned the downtown streets into swimming lanes of slush. After picking up some items at Big Buds, I was waiting at the corner of Bank and Somerset to cross the street. I could see that an OC Transpo bus was barrelling towards the intersection to catch the green light. I also saw that I was standing dangerously close to a large puddle.
Oh no. I backed away. I pressed my back directly against the Duke of Somerset pub to put as much distance as possible between myself and imminent 'swashbuckling.' In the end, I'm not sure which was worse - being splashed by dirty Somerset slush or touching the Duke of Somerset pub... both were equally unpleasant. March 02, 2005 ||
