Skating on thin ice (or thick slush, actually): Witness the state of the canal "ice". It was practically unskatable. Nonetheless, Miriam, Anatole (see his photoblog version) and myself trooped out to the canal for a final skate. The ice was terrible.
 Oh, but we tried.  Then we pondered how thin the ice was... hmm, that's a lot of water.  First (and last) Beaver Tail of the season. : (  Helping out a winter tourist on Parliament Hill.  We walked up to Parliament to visit the cats. They were out sunning themselves in the tropical -2 degree weather.  Canada-US relations. (Thanks for the idea, Anatole)  We ended the day with a photo in the security mirror on Parliament Hill. Goodbye winter! March 14, 2005 ||
