Toro
Toro: I browsed through the new Toro magazine when I was at Planet Coffee the other day. I have to admit, I liked it better than this month's Maisonneuve.

i really like that magazine too! great stories and a clean layout.

Ditto. It's one of favs as well. It's the last of classy / creative mags in a world full of trash.

While I get the impression that Toro is slightly more 'boy' oriented (due to the fashion section on polo t-shirts), the writing is a bit crisper and I didn't have the urge to say, "just get to the point already"

I haven't read it in a long while, but Toro was pretty solid the few times I did. I'd probably pick it up if I ever saw it for sale anywhere.

But what do you think of the name? Someone wrote a letter to them, saying, "Why don't you just call it 'Cojones'?"

maisonneuve always reminded me of academic journals. Sure, there was cool stuff in it on occasion, but somehow I always felt as if I was trying to struggle through something way more painful than just a magazine.

So far, I am liking Toro.

Ditto. I never read the poems. I am not in CanLit 101 anymore, thank you!
