Mittenwald, Germany: How to describe this corner of Bavaria? Think of it as German Disney... and the longest possible "It's a Small World" ride. Think lederhosen, frauleins, beer steins, schnapps, and oompa loompa brass bands.
  You'd think it was a show they were putting on for the North American tourist market, yet the majority of visitors were Germans and they were eating the atmosphere (and schnitzel) up in droves. In four days, our german speaking went from a few simple phrases to being able to order various ham-related products. If you can speak the language of pork.. you can do just fine in Bavaria.
