Clap Your Hands Say *yawn* Ottawa: We went to see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at Zaphods last night. Honestly, I was more impressed with their opener, the Hi Lo Trons. At least they realized that they were playing for an audience and it wasn't just Wednesday night boy band club.
CYHSY didn't even say hello - they played their set, straight through, and then left. It was "we're too indie to make small talk because our music speaks for itself... at least the parts where we try to articulate so that you can understand the lyrics, but you should just be impressed that we are here in hickville, so we'll just continue to mumble thank you very much. Because, we play on off-beats in 4/4 time and sometimes we clap. So there." I still like their music - but live was a bit disappointing. : ( September 05, 2005 ||
